Q. How do I report a lost or stolen debit card?
A. If you have lost your debit card, or believe it to be stolen, please contact the bank immediately at 217-568-7311. If it is after banking hours, please call Shazam at 800-383-8000. When prompted, please select option 1. Costs associated with a lost or stolen debit card: $15.00 to secure card, $10.00 to replace card.
Q. Can I reorder checks online?
A. The Gifford State Bank has partnered with Deluxe to safely and conveniently provide online check reordering. To reorder checks, press the "Deluxe Personal Checks, Order and Status" button located on the left side of our site. You will need your routing/transit number, account number and the starting number of your next check. Check orders will be sent to the mailing address on your account and a charge for the order will appear on your account. If you encounter any problems when ordering plase call or visit one of our office locations to complete your order. Please note: to reorder business checks, please call or vsit one of our office locations.
Q.Why was I assessed an ATM fee?
A. Your GSB checking account may be subject to charges when using an ATM that does not display The Gifford State Bank logo. This service charge is in addition to any fees assessed by the financial institution operating the machine. You may also be charged a fee for a balance inquiry even if you do not complete a funds transfer. For more information on fees and disclosures, please visit one of The Gifford State Bank offices.
Q. How do I change my address and/or phone number?
A. You can update your address and phone number by visiting one of The Gifford State Bank offices and completing a change of address form. If you are unable to come into any of our facilities we can send you a change of address form and you may return a notarized copy.
Q. What are the current rates on products offered by The Gifford State Bank?
A. You may call (217) 568-7311 or stop by one of The Gifford State Bank offices to obtain our deposit and lending rates.
Q. What is the difference between the available and ledger balance?
A. The available and ledger balances listed in the Account Summary screen can differ. The available balance reflects the funds currently available for use. The ledger balance reflects the actual balance in the account as of the close of the previous business day, plus any real-time deposits or withdrawals.
Q. How can I change my Online Banking password?
A. Log on to The Gifford State Bank Online Banking and Bill Payment system and select the Service Center link. Next, select the Change Password link. This option will allow you to change your password for Online Banking. If you do not know your current password, you may visit one of The Gifford State Bank offices or call the (217) 568-7311. Available Monday - Friday 8am - 5 PM.
Q. How can I add payees for bill payment?
A. Log on to The Gifford State Bank Online Banking and Bill Payment system and select the Payments tab, and then click on add payee (If you are a current user of The Gifford State Bank Bill Payment, your existing payees will be listed.) Or you can add your personal payees (friends, relatives, one-time bills), for one-time or repeating payments. For details, please call 1-855-882-4617.
Q. How can I edit or delete a payee?
A. Log on to The Gifford State Bank Online Banking and Bill Payment system and select the Payee tab, and then View Payees. To edit or delete your personal payees, click on a payee name or the Edit or Delete button. Changes you make to existing payees will immediately affect pending and future payments to that payee. Q. How can I cancel or modify a scheduled bill payment?
A. Log on to The Gifford State Bank Online Banking and Bill Payment system and select the scheduled transactions. You can edit or delete a pending payment at any time while the edit or delete buttons are visible for the pending payment. If you accidentally hit the Delete button, you will still have a chance to cancel the action before the payment is deleted. After you have canceled a payment, you can reschedule a payment for that payee. For details, please call 1-855-882-4617
Q. Why does the Online Banking logon page no longer remember my Access ID and password?
A. Your browser is utilizing an autocomplete feature to save and automatically remember your ID and password, which works on Web pages you have previously accessed. When we published a new logon page, the browser did not have a previous entry to remember. Please key in your access ID and password each time you log on to ensure the highest level of security. If you have forgotten your password or have been locked out of your account, please call (217) 568-7311.
Q. When I enter Online Banking, the secure lock indicator disappears or I receive an alert that the site is not secure. Am I in a secure session?
A. Microsoft Internet Explorer has identified this as an issue with certain browser versions. You are still in a secure session; to verify, right click inside the page, click Properties on the menu that appears, and then click Certificates. A web page that is on a secure server will display the security information for the specific site in the Certificate information box. A. An Online Statement is an electronic version of the paper statement you receive monthly for your checking and savings accounts. It includes all of the same information that you currently receive in your paper statement, including canceled check images, legal notices and the back page of your statement.

A. Online Statements are both safe and convenient. Accessible only during a secure online banking session, Online Statements help guard your personal information while reducing the clutter and hassle of paper statements. View statements online anytime and from anywhere you have Internet access.

A. All checking and savings accounts are eligible for Online Statements.
Q. How do I enroll?
A. Sign into on line banking and click on the On-line statements link. Review the disclosures, print the contract and sign. Return this signed contract to either of The Gifford State Bank locations.
